Android: We recommend you download the Hi-Q MP3 Recorder app. There’s a free version, but it’s worth the $2 to buy the full app.
Hit the record button and start recording. Watch that the sound meter doesn’t turn red.
When you are done, hit the record button again to stop. Then, to find the file, hit the button with three lines in the top left of the screen. You’ll see your recordings in chronological order. Pick the one you want to send, tap it, and hit share/send.
iPhone: You already have the app built in. Open the Voice Memo app. A picture of a mic appears. The record button is on the left. Get going.
After you are done, hit the button with three lines on it. It takes you to a page with your recordings in chronological order.
To send the file, highlight it, then tap the button at the bottom that says share. Choose email, and send away.
ALL PHONES: Hold the phone about 6-7 inches away from the person’s mouth. These phones hear everything, so be wary of loud environments, including traffic noise in the background. If possible conduct the interview in a quite place: indoors, no music in the background, or away from machinery or talking bystanders.
